Don't be afriad to say you don't agree.
As many of you know I am going back to school. I have made many sacrifices to do this and it has been hard on my whole family including my mother who is a saint and there are special things in store for her when she goes to heaven. I love you mom.
Anyway, today I was in the worst taught History Class in the state of Kentucky and my teacher was going on one of his pointless rants about school in Kentucky and this brought us to the topic of raising taxes. (Let's not forget for all of you liberal minded people out there that even the Messiah, the one and only, the liberal President Elect Obama ran on lowering taxes or at least redistributing rich peoples money for them. To help the little person. Different topic I won't stray from my subject again.) You may wonder what taxes has to do with the College and University systems in Kentucky? Well let me enlighten you. Since most of the people who read my blog are just stupid uninformed moms sitting around eating bon bons all day. You know that we don't live in the real world. We don't have to pay bills and make life change decisions everyday.
If we raise taxes if wouldn't hurt anyone and our schools would get more money. My teacher had the nerve to say we wouldn't even notice.
Well I have listened to his opinions all semester and I just couldn't be silent anymore. I told him I would notice.
His answer to that was that I was looking for it.
I was so confused by that answer. Wouldn't anyone wonder why when more money is coming out of their paycheck. Let me help you understand the way this teacher answers people when he doesn't agree with you. He usually rolls his eyes and turns his head. Kinda uses you for a while to make fun of. So he started this. Going on and on about how important it was to raise taxes. I started to feel stupid at this point. Wondering why he had to use my opinion to talk about how he didn't understand people that think we don't need to raise taxes. I don't remember how he put it right now. Just know that I made me feel that my opinion wasn't right and I was just a stupid uninformed uneducated idiot.
Then every time he would talk about making the schools better he would say that he would have to raise taxes he would stare me down with his contemptuous look.
So I just started to shake my head to let him know that I didn't agree.
Then finally after about 15 min. or so of him going on and on about this I couldn't take anymore and said, "Why don't they just cut their spending."
His brilliant reply, "Do you know how they could do that."
I told him about a friends mother who worked for a commission called The Kentucky Commission on Women and all her and about 4 or 5 other women did was read the newspaper or watch the news and find stories of women who had been discriminated against. That's all. I wouldn't of believed it if her mother had not have told me that herself.
Again his brilliant reply, "Don't you think that women need that."
When I was in the process of answering him he started to talk with the students on the other side of the room. They all started to laugh. Of course I was livid. Here was this liberal man treating me like I was a nobody. My opinion wasn't worth anything.
He ended class right after that and I packed up and started to leave. Now those of you that know me can probably see my face at that moment.
As I walked past him he said, "We don't always have to agree."
At first I didn't hear him. But when I realized that he was talking to me I stopped and walked back into the room.
I said, "You didn't have to laugh at me and make me feel stupid in front of the whole class."
He told me that he wasn't laughing at me.
I told him, "I wouldn't know what he was saying because he spoke over me and everyone was laughing. It wasn't the first time that he had done that in our class and that I wasn't the only person he had done it too."
He said something about how he's had some bad students that had treated him bad too.
I said, "Have I ever done that."
He said, "You were right on the line in class today."
I had to remind him that he was very rude to me and was rolling his eyes at me and staring me down.
To his credit he did apologize to me and at least I think it ended well.
The important thing I learned today is that over the last 13 years I've lost part of myself. I stopped standing up for myself and today I got some of my fire for defending myself back.
To everyone that reads my nonsense thank you. Lindsey

What is going on here????
A few weeks ago I was at Wendy's school talking to a few other moms. They were both fellow Latter-day Saints so we were discussing my favorite topic... Politics. There was this one man going on and on about how great it is to finally have a black president, blah blah blah blah. Ok boring. I mentioned that I could care less about him being black I didn't like his policies. I don't know how exactly it came up, but one of the fellow latter-day saint mothers said: 'well your not getting any sympathy from me I voted for him." Well the first question that came out of my mouth was, "Aren't you LDS?" Of course I already knew the answer to that. "Yes I am." She stated so proudly.
Then my next question was: "Well then how could you support a candidate that is for abortion?"
Her answer: "Abortion is not a big issue. No republican is doing anything to stop it. Barack Obama isn't going to change it either."
I sat there just floored. How could a seemingly intelligent person vote for someone who is for abortion when our church is strongly against that. I know that you don't always have a choice. John McCain doesn't have many redeeming qualities I know, but at least he wasn't for Abortion.
The church website says: "Human life is a sacred gift from God. Elective abortion for personal or social convenience is contrary to the will and the commandments of God. Church members who submit to, perform, encourage, pay for, or arrange for such abortions may lose their membership in the Church." www.lds.org
Then we got on the topic of socialism. She said: "People always bring that subject up with me and you know what, 'I am a socialist.' "
I wanted to ask her how she could be a mormon. I look that up on lds.org and many many many many church leaders have said that socialism leads to communism and that mean a Godless Society.
She wasn't the first member of the Church that I have come across. So PLEASE help me to understand the madness.
I want to hear from anyone who doesn't agree with me and tell me how a good member of the church can vote for Obama.

A special Song
Wendy sings so much. I hear her sing while she is playing by herself in her room. She is also Stephanie's toy. I always find Stephanie videoing Wendy and laughing. Wendy thinks it's pretty cool that Stephanie pays so much attention to her. We don't know what she is saying and we are pretty sure that she is making up words. But her songs are the best music we have in our home.

Halloween 2008
Anne wanted to be Red from Hood Winked. We love that movie so I was excited about that.
Mary "The Reluctant Witch". She wanted to wear her jeans under her dress. I had to really fight her. But with much coaxing I got her to finally take it all off.

Girls on a bike
!!!!!!Stop!!!!!!! Before you watch this video make sure that your kids that are timid are out of the room. I got this in an e-mail and watched it with Wendy. It scared her so bad that she ran away screaming. Now she screams if she even hears the music. It's not that scary, but it just surprises you. I should have beem more loving with Wendy, but I just laughed. I wish I got it on video. If I did it to her again that would just be mean. Do you think.
It was dark when I got dressed this morning

Licking the Bowl
So he has his own bowl. You'll also notice Stephanie in this picture below and how she is really enjoying licking her fingers. This must have just been last winter because I cut Mary and Anne's bangs around that time. Mary cut her own hair and Anne well we just can't keep the hair out of her face.
All of my girls enjoyed licking the bowl but no one more than Wendy, or as she calls herself, "Winnie"
Yummy, cotton balls?

Schools back
Anne 7
Mary Alice 5
Stephanie 11
The kids went back to school this last week. Stephanie is in middle school, Will is in 4, Anne is in 2, and Mary Alice is in Kindergarten. I was really excited I was going to have a little more time to myself. Yeah! By Wednesday I was so bored. Wendy was playing and really didn't want me to bother her. She played with Will's Legos for about 2 hours one day. She made all sorts of cars and airplanes. She did this all dressed in Ariel's wedding dress. Then she sang to me and talked so fast about something. I just couldn't understand. (I wonder where she gets that from??????) Then on Friday the kids were out of school and I was so excited to have something to do. That didn't work out so well. They fought and yelled. When they were done with that they kept telling me, "Mom, I'm bored." Now I'm so glad they are all going back to school tomorrow. I am starting school tomorrow as well we'll see how it goes. I'm nervous.
